FAQs

How often should I service my gas boiler?

How often should I service my gas boiler and heating system? It is recommended that you service your heating system once a year to ensure that it is working efficiently and safely. This will also help to identify any potential problems before they become more serious.

What is a heat pump?

A heat pump is an appliance that uses environmental energy and electricity to heat your home and hot water. Rather than burning gas or oil, heat pumps extract thermal energy from the air or the ground, meaning you can make your heating system more environmentally responsible. In turn, as the power grid moves towards renewable energy, the aim is your home will contribute towards the UK's efforts to achieve net zero. Read our Heating Guides to learn more.

Should I install a new gas boiler?

Installing a new gas boiler can reduce your energy bills, plus it can give you peace of mind that your boiler won't break down, particularly in the cold winter months when you rely on it so much. At Harding Heating, we install gas, oil and electric boilers in Shrewsbury, Oswestry, and the surrounding Shropshire areas. We favour Vaillant and Glow-worm boilers, which we believe offer a good balance between quality and price, meaning we can offer up to 10-year warranties. But can also supply and install Worchester Bosch, Baxi or Ideal, for a more affordable option. We supply and install all types of gas boilers, including Combi Boilers, System Boilers and Regular Boilers with an unvented hot water cylinder.

What is Gas Safe?

Gas Safe is the official register of gas engineers and companies in UK. The Gas Safe Register is responsible for making sure that all gas engineers on the register are qualified to work with gas appliances safely and legally. All gas engineers who work on gas appliances, including boilers, cookers, and fires, must be registered with Gas Safe by law. This helps to ensure that gas appliances are installed, serviced, and maintained to a high standard. You can check an engineers’ Gas Safe registration on the Gas Safe website.
